Move around the blend screws in finger
fixed to the stopped up point, then one time become out from the closed side. This setting is fairly accurate.
This will allow the engine to
start the carburetor in a perfect tune. Start the locomotive and let it
warm up for approximately 3-5 minutes. Don’t amend the carburetor without
warming up. Set the garrote control idle. If it is a permanent swiftness type,
then manually hold garrote against the idle speed adjustment screw.
Hold the throttle lever against
the cracked screw for low speed adjustments or all other adjustments will be
faulty performance and substandard procedure.Regulate the throttle lever
against idle speed regulating screw and turn the low speed adjustment clockwise
slowly from the normal setting waiting the engine falters, with the engine inactive.
Turn the screw clockwise until it is middle between your first position when
the engine faltered and your last position where engines started to sputter.
This will be the best possible low speed setting on your
tecumseh carburetors. |
Operate the locomotive at the dispense
speed. The high speed adjustments are basically similar
to the low speed adjustments, with the exclusion of the situation being made
1/8 of a turn at a time from the standard settings.
