Things to Consider While Lubricating the Cylinder

Tecumseh HM 100 is one of the reliable, lightweight and broadly used engines. While lubricating the cylinder, fuel may scatter from spark plug opening. This may cause serious injuries.Hence proper care must be taken while lubricating the cylinder. Here are some important and useful steps that can be followed to avoid unpleasant situations. Knowledge of these points can help you complete this activity in a smooth and easy manner.

There are certain things to keep in mind to avoid injuries from fuel fires. These are:-

1.       First of all, detach the spark plug wire and keep it away from the spark plug up.
a.       Try to keep the wire at the place where bend could not occur especially from metal parts.
b.      Attach the spark plug to the grounding post, if available.
c.       First, turn off the battery at negative terminal, if the engine has DC electric starter.
d.      Turn off the entire switches.
e.      Eliminate the ignition key if endowed with.

2.       Eradicate the spark plug.
3.       Spray 30ml of clean engine oil into the spark plug hole.
4.       Cover the spark plug hole to avoid fuel from scattering from the spark plug hole.
(Step 5 for recoil starters and step 6 for electric starter engines.)
5.       Take hold of starter cord handles.
a.       Pull out the starter utilizing arm stroking.
b.      Repeat once to distribute the oil throughout the cylinder.
c.       Proceed to step 8.
6.       Push the starter button to cycle engine for 2 seconds.
7.       Turn off the ignition switch and repeat step 6 & 7.
8.       Remove the rag cover from the spark plug hole.
9.       Install spark plug.

              Disconnect spark plug wire from grounding post. Connect the spark plug wire to spark plug to start the engine.
